We are very grateful to end the fourth edition with EDGEof who’s been an integral partner to MUTEK.JP. Our collaborations together started early in the year with EDGEof hosting our Digi Lab on Building Bridges between Art and Technology. The digital art and technology symposium involved entrepreneurs, scholars and multimedia artists including live performances by machìna and Shohei Fujimoto. A couple of weeks ago, EDGEof continued to serve as a playground for the MUTEK.JP AI Music lab where lab participants teased the crowd with their AI projects. The community also engaged with professionals who introduced the relevance of AI in contemporary arts.
Once again, for a special collab during the MUTEK.JP festival week, EDGEof welcomes back the lab as a panel to review their creative applications of AI to sound. The selected performers will showcase the full results of their production experiments using artificial intelligence on Sunday, December 15th. Then, together with EDGEof, we mark the end of the festivities with an official Afterparty!
Live performances at the MUTEK.JP x EDGEof Afterparty will overlap with multifaceted artists from America and Japan. LA-based vōx channels her innermost thoughts to produce tender yet stark music hiding behind the veil. Tokyo’s Sebu Hiroko is a trained film score composer with acclaimed commissions in the fashion industry, film and national tv. Hiroko’s composition with ISSEY MIYAKE grows over the years at the Paris Collection.
